Located within Jiuxionghu Ecological Park in Hsinchu, the site is characterized by pronounced changes in terrain. The design responds sensitively to the land and surrounding landscape.
As a cultural space dedicated to Guan Yu, the architecture draws upon the values of integrity, openness, and restraint, shaping the project’s spatial language.
Through the separation of pedestrian and vehicular circulation, and a gently meandering path, visitors are guided to gradually engage with the valley landscape and outdoor Buddhist statues, experiencing a quiet dialogue between nature and faith as they move through the site.

Jiuxionghu Cultural Architecture.
The main hall on the second floor, defined by exposed concrete and open interfaces, opens toward both heaven and earth. Light, shadow, and materiality come together to create an atmosphere of solemnity and purity.
The third floor extends into spaces for meditation and artistic display, where nature, culture, and faith are interwoven within the architecture. Through restraint, spatial openness, and functional integration, the design responds to the terrain, allowing the building to become a vessel that holds culture within the mountain landscape.
