This project involves the renovation of a long and narrow residential house with limited access to natural light, resulting in several dark interior spaces. The original layout, constrained by the placement of the staircase and bathrooms, also led to inefficient circulation. Improving daylight access and spatial flow therefore became the primary challenges of the project.

The design reorganizes the spatial structure, including plumbing systems, stair placement, and functional zoning, to better respond to the homeowners’ needs. A central courtyard is introduced to integrate the staircase and circulation, with bedrooms arranged on either side. This strategy allows natural light and ventilation to permeate the interior, transforming the courtyard into a shared family space and redefining the communal core of the home.
