Located on the third floor of the Oriphase Design office, this space serves as a place for daily work and reflection. The project attempts to redefine a setting that exists somewhere between an office and a dwelling. Rather than functioning as a conventional workspace, it is conceived more like a study within a residence—an intimate environment that accommodates reading, discussion, focused work, and quiet contemplation.
The design begins with a reorganization of circulation and the relationship between interior and environment. By opening up what was once a relatively enclosed interior and recessing part of the built volume, a balcony is created as a space that reconnects the interior with nature. Planting is introduced as part of the everyday visual landscape. Through a redefinition of interior and exterior boundaries, the space is no longer limited to a single functional workplace, but instead establishes a softer transition between indoor space, semi-outdoor space, and the natural environment.
Dark timber volumes, transparent glass interfaces, and planted elements together form the fundamental spatial layers of the interior, allowing reading, working, and resting to maintain both continuity and subtle separation. Natural elements are not introduced merely as decoration, but become part of the spatial experience itself, allowing occupants to perceive the changing qualities of light, the passage of time, and a more nuanced connection between the environment and the human senses.

Vertically, a light court is introduced to draw natural light into the space, allowing daylight to reach deeper areas of the interior that would otherwise remain dim. Rather than remaining at the perimeter, light gradually filters inward through the light well, glass surfaces, and recessed volumes, setting air, views, and perception into motion within the space.
Through this spatial reconfiguration, what was once a closed and static interior is transformed into an environment that remains in continuous exchange with its surroundings, allowing light, air, and sightlines to move more freely throughout the space.
As time passes, light and shadow slowly unfold across the interior, and the rhythm of work returns to a quiet and focused state. More than simply another floor of an office, the space becomes a place where nature, light, and thought are gently woven back into everyday life.
